Sallie Carter Davis

KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Sallie Carter Davis, 87, of 105 Manix Drive, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Joseph Carter and Minnie Richards Carter. She was the wife, for 49 years, to the late Fred Davis. She was a charter member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, where she held perfect attendance for 25 years. She was a Sunday School teacher and clerk for the church for 35 years. She was former church pianist and a choir member. She retired from the textile industry. If you knew her, you would never forget her. She is survived by sons, Randy Davis and wife, Delores, the Rev. Bruce Davis and wife, Nadine and Frank F. Davis, all of Kings Mountain; daughters, Rebecca D. Randolph and Judy D. Varner, both of Kings Mountain; a sister, Marylan Dover of Shelby; 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight form 6 to 8 at Harris Funeral Home.
Funeral: Sunday at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church
Burial: Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery
