Mamie Earl Towery
Feb. 9, 1911 - March 10, 2008
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Mamie Earl Towery, 97, of 113 Hord St., died Monday,
March 10, 2008, at Century Care.
A native of Cleveland County, Mrs. Towery was a daughter of the late
James Franklin Earl and Eliza Jane Morrison Earl. She retired from
Cleveland Mills, where she was a spinner. She was a member of St. Paul
Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, husband, Hubert Milton Towery,
daughter-in-law, Ina Grigg Towery, son-in-law, the Rev. Franklin
Lattimore, three brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by son, Hugh Towery of Lawndale; daughter, Josephine
Cook and husband, W.C., of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Angela Towery
Blanton and husband, Ronnie, Tina Towery Nejberger and husband, Serge,
Chip Lattimore and wife, Melinda, Karen Smith and husband, Walter; seven
great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight at Stamey Funeral
Home from 6:30 to 8:30.
Funeral: Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church; body will be
placed in church 30 minutes before the service
