Annie Maude Bivins Dayberry

SHELBY - Mrs. Annie Maude Bivins Dayberry, 88, of 405 N. Morgan St., died Monday, June 18, 2001, at White Oak Manor in Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice Hoyle Bivins. She retired from Ora Mills, where she worked as a spinner. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Shelby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Boyd Dayberry; a son, William Boyd "Bill" Dayberry; two sisters, Gertie Byers and Minnie Panther; and four brothers, Will, Zero, Joe and Lester Bivins.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Peggy Dayberry of Shelby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Jim Swink of Shelby and Jane and Paul Swink of Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Chris Swink, Brian Swink, Mark Swink, Jason Dayberry, Greg Dayberry, Anna Dayberry Barrett and Tim Ingle; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Jim and Patsy Swink, 113 Crane Court, Shelby.
