Bowman Waters, Ida

LAWNDALE — Mrs. Ida Bowman Waters, known as “2-Mamas,” died Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late James Abernathy and Martha Jane Pearson Bowman. She retired as a psychiatric nurse with Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg, Va., and did private nursing in Cleveland County. She attended Ledford Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers, five sisters and three infant sisters.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Ted Warlick of Stanley and Barbara and Don Horn of Marion; five grandchildren, Pamela Pollard, Ricky Warlick, Lynn Sessoms, Jill Rhoney and Carol Davis; and eight great-grandchildren, Wesley Warlick, Wesley Sessoms, Jeremiah Warlick, Ethan Sessoms, Laura Pollard, Matthew Rhoney, Meredith Rhoney and Brandy Snyder.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Jackie Price and James Green officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
