Mary Brackett Beam

LAWNDALE — Mrs. Mary Brackett Beam, 93, of 403 Warlick Road, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.

She was born in Cleveland County on Jan. 5, 1911, and was retired from Burns High School Food Services. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius Washington Brackett and Laura Maude Thompson Brackett; her husband, Boyd Cline Beam; a son, Dwight Beam; five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by a son, Jim Beam of Lawndale; a daughter, Janice Conner of Charlotte; two sisters, Alice Harmon of Spindale and Jewel English of Mechanicsville, Va.; five grandchildren, Kathy Mosteller of Belwood, Melinda Lattimore of Lawndale, Jeannie Reynolds of Belwood, Kenny Conner of Indian Trail and the Rev. Dennis Conner of Charlotte; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel in Fallston, with the Revs. Ronell Owensby and Dennis J. Conner officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at Stamey Funeral Home Sunday before the funeral, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
