Richard Douglas Champion
Pineville, La. — Mr. Richard Douglas Champion, 65, died Friday,
Dec. 26, 2003, in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.
Born Oct. 13, 1938, a native of Shelby, he was a retired truck driver and a Navy
veteran.
Survivors include his two sons, John Champion of Wahalla, S.C. and Donald
Champion of New Orleans, La.; two daughters, Mary Ann Eason of Casper, Wyo., and
Lori Davison of Pineville; one brother, Vance Champion Jr. of Florida; two
sisters, Rebecca Southards of Shelby and Linda Harnage of Easley, S.C.; and
eight grandchildren.
A memorial service for Richard Douglas Champion was held Monday at 3 p.m. in the
Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with the Rev. Dave Henry officiating
under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
