Lola Cook Blanton
SHELBY - Mrs. Lola Cook Blanton, 91, of 412 Royster Ave., died
Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel P. and Martha Jane
Self Cook. She retired from Shelby Mill Co. and belonged to New Bethel Church of
the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel
Junie Cook, Aaron Cook, the Rev. Avery Cook and Noah Alexander Cook; and four
sisters, Ethel Cook Griffin, Minnie Cook Glascoe, Mary Alice Cook Beam and
Mittie Leila Cook.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Church of the Nazarene, with the
Revs. Jeff Beckett, Reed Jones, Dan Wallace and Robert Andress officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour before
the service, and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
