Mary Lou Fortenberry Glenn


LAWNDALE — Mrs. Mary Lou Fortenberry Glenn, 77, of 204 Cline St., died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Carolinas Medical Center.

Born July 25, 1925, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Cleveland and Elizabeth Rose Monnie Wall Fortenberry. She retired as an inspector from Cleveland Mills. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lawndale.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Glenn; and two brothers, Charles Fortenberry and Harvey Fortenberry.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wray V. Glenn, of Lawndale; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Judy Glenn of Polkville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ravonda and Larry Wyatt of Polkville and Donna and David Thomas of Cherryville; four grandsons, Marc Glenn, Joseph Glenn, Andy Thomas and Jeff Wyatt; and one granddaughter, Jenna Wyatt.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Lawndale with the Rev. David Reep officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
