Kenneth Hamrick

MORGANTON — Mr. Kenneth Hamrick, 67, of 3857 Laurel Heights Drive, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, following a period of declining health.

He was born May 3, 1936, in Cleveland County, and was the son of Gladys Scism Hamrick of Kings Mountain and the late Ben Hamrick. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morganton and a veteran of the Air Force.

Mr. Hamrick is survived by his wife, Betty A. Hamrick of the home; a special son, Nathan Turner of Clemmons; sisters and their husbands, Maxine and Johnny Williams and Rachel and Paul Dover, all of Kings Mountain, and Sara and Reginald Weaver of Oxford; a brother and his wife, William and Carolyn Hamrick of Cartersville, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church sanctuary, with the Revs. Dr. Thomas A. Bland Jr. and Bill Rotan officiating.

A private graveside service will be held in Burke Memorial Park, with Masonic graveside rites by members of the Catawba Valley Masonic Lodge.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service and at other times at the home.
