Minnie Rebecca "Beck" Jones Grigg
LAWNDALE — Mrs. Rebecca Jones Grigg, 60, of 3749 Rube Spangler Road, died
Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at her home.
Born Jan. 21, 1943, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of Ora Lee Scism
Jones of Lawndale and the late Jack Monroe Jones. She retired from Sparta Mills
as a security guard and attended Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law,
Carroll Pritchard.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Sam Owen
Grigg; a son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Angie Grigg of Lawndale; two daughters
and two sons-in-law, Beth and Billy McCoy of Cherryville and Sammi and Philip
Wortman of Shelby; a brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Agnes Jones of Double
Shoals; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Amanda and Lewis Scruggs, Carolyn
Pritchard and Martha Jones and Charles Smith, all of Lawndale; six
grandchildren, Josh Wortman, Jacob Wortman, Justin Grigg, Elise Grigg, Kaley
McCoy and Lindsey McCoy; and a special nephew, Fred Pritchard.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Ken Pruitt officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at the funeral home and
at other times at the home of Ora Jones of Rube Spangler Road, Lawndale.
