Max Jerry Lee

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Mr. Max Jerry Lee, 59, of 131 Arrowhead Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Saint Francis Hospital.

A native of Nantahala, he was the son of the late Gerald and Gaynell Day Lee. He was an employee of Cognis in Mauldin. He was a member of the 1959 Kings Mountain Championship Football Team, a scuba diver and an avid outdoorsman. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church in Travelers Rest, S.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll Lee and Emmett "Bud" Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Pritchard Lee; his stepmother, Louise Lee of Kings Mountain; one stepsister; two nephews, Dale Lee and Jeffery Lee, both of Blacksburg; and other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Oakview Baptist Church Cemetery in Kings Mountain.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home and Friday after the service at the church fellowship hall.
