Eliza G. Luckadoo Brackett
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Eliza G. Luckadoo Brackett, 89, of 107 Charlie
Randall Road, died Sunday, June 04, 2000, at her home.
Born Jan. 16, 1911, in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John
Emmer and Ida Ledford Luckadoo. She was a homemaker and a former employee of
Cleveland Mills. She was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Z.
Brackett Sr.; and two grandsons, Charles Dewey Brackett and Michael Lee Buff.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dewey Z. Jr. and Ruth C. Brackett
of Lawndale; a daughter, Betty Brackett Buff of Lawndale; a brother, Jesse M.
Luckadoo of Casar; three granddaughters, Doris Clements and her husband,
Brinson, both of Savannah, Ga., and Jennifer Buff Newton and Jamie Buff, both of
Lawndale; a grandson, Jeremy Buff of Mooresboro; and two great-grandchildren,
Adriane Brackett and Jordan Brackett.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lawndale Baptist Church, with the Revs.
Paul Williams, Alton Martin and Zeno Wright officiating. The body will be placed
in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill
Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Stamey Funeral Home,
and other times at the home of Dewey and Ruth Brackett, 1622 W. Stagecoach
Trail, Lawndale.
