Martin-Eaker, Lucy
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Lucy Martin Eaker, 91, of 312 W. Main St., died
Sunday, June 13, 1999, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was preceded in death by her parents, George
and Sarah White Martin. She was retired from Cleveland Mills where she worked as
a spinner. She was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice G. Eaker; three brothers,
Ulysses Martin, Henry Martin and Paul Martin; and three sisters, Evelena Buff,
Lois Costner and Mayzell Richard.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Ruth Eaker and Dale
and Pat Eaker, all of Lawndale and Don and Betty Jo Eaker of Shelby; one
daughter and son-in-law, Nell and Joe Genco of Baltimore, Md.; seven
grandchildren and five spouses, Glenn and Libby Eaker and Bryan and Tammy Eaker,
all of Lawndale, Jeanne and Billy Blanton of Polkville, Rick and Susan Wallace
of Perry Hall, Md., Scott and Wanda Eaker, Andy Eaker and Wes Eaker, all of
Shelby; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lawndale Baptist Church with the Rev.
Paul Williams officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes
before the service. Burial will follow at Palm Tree United Methodist Church
Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Stamey Funeral Home.
