Milton Webb Powell

LAWNDALE — Mr. Milton Webb Powell, 69, of 219 Oak Grove-Clover Hill Church Road, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.

Born March 7, 1933, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Miller Bethea Powell and Bessie Johnson Powell. He retired from Copeland Corporation and as owner and operator of Powell’s Automotive. He was a member of Polkville Volunteer Fire Department and served in the Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ann Howard Powell of the home; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Webb and Emily Powell of Lawndale and Howard and Kristi Powell of Wilmington; a brother, James Powell of Lawndale; and three granddaughters, Kayla Powell, Krista Powell and Katherine Powell.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Big Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Edwards officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church and the family will be at the home of a son, Webb Powell, 304 Oak Grove-Clover Hill Church Road, Lawndale.
