Rachel Naomi Pritchard Ledford

LAWNDALE — Mrs. Rachael Naomi Pritchard Ledford, 75, of 138 Ball Park Road, died June 17, 2004, at Hospice at Wendover.

Born Sept. 15, 1928, in Cleveland County, to the late Charles Franklin and Minnie Pearson Pritchard, she retired as a saleslady with J.C. Penney Co. She was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Shelby Chapter 110, where she was a past matron, and a member of the Council on Aging/ Senior Center in Shelby and served as a volunteer at Union School.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Andy, Clyde and Loy Pritchard; and two sisters, Matilda Champion and Ruth Richards.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert G. “Bob” Ledford; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon W. and Randy Holt of Shelby; a grandson and his wife, Darren and Cammy Holt of Lawndale; a granddaughter and her husband, Tina and David Smith of Shelby; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Brandon Sain and Stephanie Turner.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lawndale Baptist Church, with Pastor Jim Kilby and the Rev. Paul Williams officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive visitors this evening from 6 to 7:30 at Stamey Funeral Home.
