Dwight Dewitt Rollins

SHELBY — Mr. Dwight D. Rollins, 86, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Hospice.

Born in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Frank C. and Sally Scism Rollins. He was a member of Lafayette Street United Methodist Church and was a member of the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School class. He was a retired supervisor at the Dover Textile Group.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Pinkney and Edith Rollins, Duke and Stella Rollins, Frank C. and Kathleen Rollins and Albert, Coleman and Fred Rollins; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sybil Ingle, Mary Lee and M.T. Murray, and J.D. Lowman.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Blanton Rollins of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Judie and Tom McSwain and Nancy and Richard McGhee; grandchildren, Jessica (Jill) McSwain Deyton and husband, Max, and Nichole and Alex McGhee; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Neill Deyton; a sister and her husband, Imogene Lowman Blanton and Carl; a brother-in-law, Roscoe Ingle; a sister-in-law, Helen Stover Rollins; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families and friends.

The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel with the Revs. Gervase Hitch and Bill Pheagin officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service and at other times at the home.
