KINGS MOUNTAIN — Lillian Scism Smith, 75, 260 Range Road, died
Dec. 30, 1997, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.
She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Lemuel Baker and Ada
Elliott Scism, retired from Baxter Corp., Shelby, member of Bethlehem Baptist
Church and choir for more than 30 years.
SURVIVORS: Husband, David P. Smith Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, David P. and
Irene Smith Jr., Shelby; daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Tony Bumgardner,
Kings Mountain, Ruth and Don Hoke, Harrisburg, Sarah and Scott Falls, Gastonia,
Christine and Hayes Bennett Jr., Shelby; grandchildren and spouses, Paul and
Renee Smith, Hollie and Scott Arnold, Daphine Case, Scott and Leslie Rayfield,
Denise Cox, William Ledbetter, Baker Falls, Crystal and Justin Bennett; nine
great-great-grandchildren
