Charles A. "Charlie" Scism

7 Feb 1914 - 5 Feb 1977

Services for Charlie A. Scism were to be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Lily Baptist Church by the Rev. Marion Adams and the Rev. D.W. Digh. Burial was to follow in Double Shoals Methodist Church cemetery.

Scism, 62, of W. Marion St. died Saturday at 2:50 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Hospital after an illness of one year.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Odus and Minnie Walker Scism.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alsie Lankford Scism; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Lane and Mrs. Jack Denton of Shelby; two brothers, J.P. Scism and Forrest Scism of Shelby; four sisters, Mrs. Ora Jones and Mrs. Fred Beaver of Lawndale, Mrs. Jack Harrison and Mrs. Clyde Wilson of Shelby; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Double Shoals Methodist Church.

Clay-Barnette Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
