Forrest Everette Scism, Sr.

9 Sept 1922 - 27 Apr 1988

Forrest Everette Scism, Sr., 65, of Branchville Road, Shelby, died Wednesday at Cleveland Memorial Hospital.

He was the son of the late Odus and Minnie Walker Scism and was retired from PPG. He was a World War II Army veteran and a life member of D.A.V. No. 18 and a member of Warren F. Hoyle American Legion Post. He was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Chapman Scism; two sons, Forrest Everette Scism, Jr. of Polkville and John Odus Scism of Shelby; two daughters, Margaret Scism Hyder of Shelby and Brodia Scism Sarratt of Shelby; four sisters, Ora Jones and Ethel Beaver of Lawndale and Ava Wilson and Marie Harrison of Shelby; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Andy Meade, Jr. and the Rev. Charles Boone. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
