Ruby Ray Toney Ledford
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Ruby Ray Toney Ledford, 88, of 2705 Ball Park
Road, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 30, 1913, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Adam
Alexander and Minnie Jane Eskridge Toney. She was a homemaker and a member of
Lawndale Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William
Ticie Ledford; four brothers, Fields Toney, Paul Toney, Blaine Toney and Worth
Toney; and three sisters, Eva Toney, Evie Toney and Grace Toney.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Mary Ledford and
Robert "Bob" and Naomi Ledford, all of Lawndale, and Donald "Don" and Barbara
Ledford of Kings Mountain; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Putnam of
Lawndale; a sister, Faye Nettles of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Mark Ledford
of Kings Mountain, Michael Ledford of Cherryville, Kathy Ledford of Shelby and
Sharon Holt; five great-grandchildren, Chris White, Christopher Ledford, Dorian
White, Darren Holt and Tina Smith; and a great-great-granddaughter, Alison
White.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with the
Revs. Paul Williams and Cecil Buff officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at the funeral home.
