Paul Willis

LAWNDALE — Mr. Paul Willis, 87, of 420 Eastridge Drive, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at Lutheran Home.

Born April 10, 1916, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Edny Willis and Mary Elizabeth Wright Willis.

He retired from the finishing department at Drexel Furniture Co. and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy London Willis; three brothers, Carl, Wilson and Lee Willis; and a sister, Mary Agnes Lattimore.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, the Rev. Donald and Ruth Willis of Vale and Roger and Margaret Willis of Raleigh; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lee and Dan Jones of Lawndale; a brother, Dickson Willis of Barboursville, W.Va.; a sister, Lilly Mae Lee of Shelby; six grandchildren, Catherine and Bill White of Lawndale, Phillip and Christine Willis of Weddington, Dan Jones III and Michael Jones of Los Angeles and Ryan Willis and Ian Willis of Raleigh; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor White, Travis White and Blake Willis.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, with Dr. Robert T. Parsons Jr. and the Rev. Donald Willis officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.
