Faye Willis Wilson

SHELBY — Mrs. Faye Willis Wilson, 89, of 900 Wyke Road, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Century Care of Shelby.

Born April 24, 1914, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Fannie Pritchard Willis. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Palmer “Doc” Wilson; a son, Bobby Joe Wilson; brothers, J.J. Willis, Boyd Willis and Lloyd Willis; and sisters, Blanche Warlick and Bertha Gilreath.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Janet Wilson of Homewood, Ill.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Sue Grant and Annice and Glenn Allen, all of Shelby; grandsons, Michael Wilson and his wife, Judy, of Cocoa, Fla., and Ray Allen of Burbank, Calif.; granddaughters, Sandra Richardson of Merritt Island, Fla., Myra Whitesides and her husband, Chan, and Donna Spangler and her husband, Grant, all of Shelby; great-grandchildren, Jake and Jordan Whitesides, Grant Blanton and Carly Spangler, all of Shelby; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Mabel Willis of Shelby; sisters-in-law, Pauline Willis and Vernia Wilson of Shelby; and special nieces, Norma Lynch of Shelby and Dee Leigh of Kings Mountain.

The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Whitlock officiating.

Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
