Daisy Emma Wilson Edwards

SHELBY — Mrs. Daisy Emma Wilson Edwards, 91, of 3722 LaVista Drive, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Century Care Nursing Home.

A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late John and Lennie Elizabeth Jones Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Logan Edwards; two daughters, Erie Cantrell and Louise Ramsey; two brothers, Millard Wilson and Julius Wilson; and four sisters, Lois Ellis, Vertie Poteat, Ida Humphries and Dorie Padgett.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joe and Barbara Edwards of Shelby and John Edwards of Ellenboro; a daughter, Mary Lou Smith of Bessemer City; a sister, Ellie Lee of Shelby; 14 grandchildren, Wanda Humphries, Lori Rabb, Tonda Putnam, John Edwards Jr., Kenneth Edwards, Diane Bridges, Kathy Smith, Karen Keeter, Tracy Morton, Peggy Brown, Danny Harris, Thomas Harris, Sheila King and Dallas Harrill; and a number of great-grandchildren.

The funeral will by Monday at 2 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Revs. Ken Pruitt and Phil Hughes and Dr. Paul Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Cleveland Funeral Services and other times at the home of Joe Edwards, 3712 W. Dixon Blvd.
